Eid Breakfast

A Celebration of Gratitude & Togetherness

The morning of Eid begins with gratitude in our hearts and joy around the table. After a month of fasting, the first meal of Eid is more than breakfast — it is a moment of gathering, laughter, and sharing Allah’s blessings with family and loved ones.

Our Eid breakfast table is laid generously, with a spread that brings together comforting classics, bold flavours, and family favourites.

The Hot Buffet

The heart of the Eid breakfast is the hot buffet, where family favourites take centre stage.

Eggs – Two Ways, No breakfast table is complete without eggs prepared with love.

Shakshouka

Shakshouka is a warm, comforting dish of eggs gently poached in a rich tomato and pepper sauce, fragrant with spices and herbs. It is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a light supper.  This is a popular Mediterranean Dish and no excuses for not making it. This is my version.

Step 1 – Prepare the tomato Base

What to do

  1. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan.
  2. Sauté 1 chopped onion, 2 cloves garlic, and 1 chopped bell pepper until soft.
  3. Add 2 cups crushed tomatoes, 1 tsp paprika, ½ tsp cumin, salt and pepper.
  4. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Step 2 – Add the Eggs

What to do

  1. Make small wells in the sauce using a spoon.
  2. Crack 4–6 eggs gently into the wells.
  3. Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are set but the yolks remain soft.

Step 3 – Garnish & Serve

Finish the dish

  1. Sprinkle with fresh parsley or coriander.
  2. Add crumbled feta (optional).
  3. Drizzle a little olive oil and serve with warm bread or pita.

Perfect for dipping and sharing straight from the pan.

Mama’s Daniyah & green chilli Omlette

One of the most loved dishes on our table is Mama’s dhanyah, green chilli and onion omelette. Fresh coriander, finely chopped onions and green chillies are folded into fluffy eggs to create a simple yet deeply fragrant dish. It is the kind of breakfast that fills the kitchen with warmth and nostalgia — a true family favourite on Eid morning.

Mama’s famous Yellow Aloo

No Eid breakfast table in our home would be complete without Mama’s famous Yellow Aloo.

Aloo Parathas

To finish the morning, guests gather around the tea and coffee table.
Served with
• Tea & Coffee

The gentle aroma of tea and coffee creates the perfect ending to a beautiful Eid morning.

Closing Reflection

Eid breakfasts like this are not only about food — they are about family, gratitude, and celebrating Allah’s blessings together. After a month of fasting, the table becomes a place where hearts reconnect and joy is shared.

Alhamdulillah for the gift of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid.
